30 June 2014, Bangalore: Two colleges affiliated under Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) have been disaffiliated for the 2014-2015 academic year. The colleges are
1) GSS Institute of Technology, Bangalore
2) Nadgir Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bangalore

Both the colleges got the show cause notice about a year ago, and despite of receiving notices, they have failed to keep up with the standards of VTU.

Thus it is said by VTU that, the students pursuing Engineering in the above mentioned colleges will have to make a move on to some other VTU affiliated Colleges in Karnataka. This will be major concern of the B.E. candidates.

These disaffiliation may result in a ample amount of dignified professors and lecturers lose their jobs. It is high time for the colleges to perform well and co-operate with VTU.

We would like to request all the Engineering colleges to stay up to the standards of VTU University and not to spoil the name of college, the careers of Engineering students and the future of India.

Jan 18, 2014, Bangalore:As per the VTU registrar announcement, VTU Results for 1st sem Bangalore and Mysore region B.E/B.Tech was supposed to be announced on Friday, 17 Jan 2014. However the University has failed to announce the result on the previously mentioned date. The articles on result being announced on 17 Jan 2014 was published on newspapers like Bangalore Mirror, Deccan Herald, Udayavani and The Hindu. All the students waited for the results being out till late night on Friday. And the results have not yet been announced. Now Students of VTU are on rage and they need answer for the failed promise.

The 1st semester MBA/MCA/B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch./M.Arch have also been scheduled to commence from 1st August 2014. However VTU 1st semester MBA/MCA/B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch./M.Arch are the tentative dates. As per the June 2013 results, after 1st and 2nd semester results, the 5th and 6th sem results were announced. Thus there is a possibility that the next prey for VTU in terms of announcing results will be 5th and 6th sem. Later after 5th and 6th sem results the 3rd and 4th sem results may be expected.

March 1st, 2013: The VTU university all semesters results for B.E/B.Tech was announced during the first week of February. And the photocopy of answer scripts have been already emailed to the students for higher semesters. The 1st year B.E students will receive their photocopy of answer scripts by the 2nd week of March.

The revaluation results are expected to be announced for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th semesters by 2nd week of March, i.e. before 12 March 2013. The revaluation results will not be announced by dividing into regions, instead every semester results will be announced at a shot. Thus there will be no waiting period as during the usual results.

VTU SUPPLEMENTARY 2014:
VTU has decided not to conduct any supplementary exams for students who have failed in CIP71/81 / 10CIP18/28, MATDIP301, MATDIP401, 10CIV18/28. This will definitely make an impact on the life of students. The VTU folks have been continuously pleading and requesting the VTU University. But yet there has been no action taken.

VTU SUPPLEMENTARY 2013:
By the direction of the Vice-Chancellor, the principals of all affiliated engineering colleges are requested to note that,
1. Special supplementary Examinations will be conducted for the students who have failed in the subjects:
2. -Constitution of India and Professional Ethics (CIP71/81 / 06CIP18/28)
-Advanced Mathematics – I (MATDIP301) & Advanced Mathematics – II (MATDIP401)
-Environmental Studies – (06CIV18/28)
2. The students who have completed all the subjects required for the award of degree
other than the above subjects can only apply for these examinations.
3. The students left with any other subjects other than these subjects are not eligible to
file examination application form for special supplementary examinations.
4. Students should submit their examination application form through http://examform.vtu.ac.in before 24th August 2012.
The Process for Submission of form through online is as follows:
 Use the URL: http://examform.vtu.ac.in to access the supplementary examination link
 On the examform home page, click on the supplementary examination link to open the application page
 Enter the USN
 Select examination series i.e Supplementary exam aug-sep-2012
 Select the examination center to appear for the examination.
 Enter the image displayed in the enter text image shown on the right side
 Click on submit it will show the candidate details and the subjects.
 Click on the check box to apply for a particular subject. The fee amount will calculated automatically on
selecting the subject.
 Select the payment mode and enter the required details.
 Click on apply now.
 On successful completion the print button will be enabled. In case you want to apply for more subjects
repeat steps above and reprint the application to submit at college.
 Take two Printouts and affix your photograph put your signature and submit the same to the
college for the approval of the Principal before 25th August 2012 along with fee.
 Take one copy after the approval of the Principal and use the same as Hall Ticket.
5. Fee for the said examination is Rs.125/- per subject
6. College shall take a report of the students applied for this examination from the web by following the
procedure given hereunder:
There would be option in the principal login Exam menu-> Exam application /
Challenge Evaluation application report for generating the consolidated report of
supplementary examinations. Select the supplementary examination checkbox
then select the examination series and date range to generate the report.
7. Colleges shall take a printout of the report and submit the same to the office of the undersigned before 29th August 2012. ::1::3
8. The Supplementary Examinations will be conducted as per the following schedule:
This Special Provision is made for these Subjects only.
The students may choose any one of the following centre as per their convenience:
1). East West Instt. of Tech, Bangalore
2) Global Academy of Tech. Bangalore
3) KLECET, Belgaum,
4) Aappa Inst. Gulbarga,

6) St. Joseph College, Mangalore and

The Principals of affiliated Engineering Colleges are requested to bring the contents of this circular to the notice of all concerned.

Bangalore, 22 September 2014 VTU university has decided to give 1 year extension for it’s students to complete the Degree.

As we all know the VTU regulation says – “An individual must complete his degree in the time of 8 years for regular course and 6 years for Lateral entry (diploma) course.

By the direction of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, the students of B.E. regular course, those who have taken admission in 2006-2007, and the students who have taken admission through lateral entry (Diploma Students) in the year 2008-2009, have completed their 8 and 6 years respectively. But he added -”The students are hereby permitted to appear for the Dec.2014/Jan.2015 and Jun.2015/July.2015 university examinations as one time measure only, under following conditions:

1. The above permission is granted only for students of B.E. regular batch who have taken admission in 2006-2007 and the lateral entry students who have taken admission in 2008-2009.
2. Students have to pay penalty of Rs.3000 per subject in addition to the examination fee.
3. The students who have not completed the course in full, within the course duration, as per university regulation, are not eligible to pay the examination fee under this notification.
4. The students filling application under the benefit of this notification have to submit an undertaking in the format enclosed below. Click here to download the form

The dates for filling the examination application form for such students will be intimated later. The Principals of all the affiliated/constituent engineering colleges of VTU are hereby informed to bring this information to the notice of all the concerned.

1st November 2014, Bangalore: VTU Centralises Placements for on the favour of engineering students.

Students of engineering colleges in rural areas as well as those that are not considered to be in the top league are set to benefit from the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) decision to streamline the placement process. Hitherto, most campus placements were restricted to colleges in main cities.

For the first time, the VTU will conduct centralised placements for the batches of 2014 and 2015. Instead of companies visiting individual college campuses, the placement process will be conducted for colleges clubbed together at the VTU’s regional centres.

Explaining the rationale behind the centralised recruitment drive, VTU Vice-Chancellor H. Maheshappa said the centralised system was aimed at providing equal opportunities to students from across colleges, especially in rural areas, as campus placements were earlier concentrated on Bangalore-based colleges.

This follows an experiment done last year at the University B.D.T. College, Davangere. “Companies too conveyed to us that it is difficult to visit each college. Under the new system, they will be able to select from a larger pool of students and those from rural areas can benefit out of this,” he said.

Geo D’Silva, placement officer, VTU, said the first phase of the recruitment drive would have around 15 companies participate and would be open to students from undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines. Students interested in participating in the recruitment drive had to register and clear a company-specific online test on November 5 to be eligible. They would later be called for the interviews.

Around nine companies will be recruiting students from the 2014 batch, eight companies from the 2015 batch and two each from MBA and M.Tech. batches.

13 Jan 2015, Bangalore: VTU result 1st and 2nd sem results to be announced today for Belgaum, Gulbarga and Mysore regions. The rest of the regions (bangalore) will be announced tomorrow. The results are expected to be announced after 8:00 PM, 13 Jan 2015. Revaluation and photocopy details will be announced once the results are available.

Bangalore, 21 July 2014: VTU 1st and 2nd sem results will be announced tomorrow i.e. 22 July 2014 approximately 6 PM IST. The results will be announced Belgaum, Gulbarga and Mysore regions, conducted during May/June 2014. The Bangalore region results may be expected within 2 days. Sources also say that results will be announced starting from the fourth week of July 2014. Also Within August 1st week, all semester results will be announced. Jan 18, 2014, Bangalore:VTU results for 1st sem B.E/B.Tech Mysore and Bangalore region results announced. This completes the results for all regions for 1st sem Jan 2014 exams.

Jan 18, 2014, Bangalore:As per the VTU registrar announcement, VTU Results for 1st sem Bangalore and Mysore region B.E/B.Tech was supposed to be announced on Friday, 17 Jan 2014. However the University has failed to announce the result on the previously mentioned date. The articles on result being announced on 17 Jan 2014 was published on newspapers like Bangalore Mirror, Deccan Herald, Udayavani and The Hindu. All the students waited for the results being out till late night on Friday. And the results have not yet been announced. Now Students of VTU are on rage and they need answer for the failed promise.

Bangalore, July 25 2013: VTU university will announce its 1st and 2nd semester results for B.E. June July 2013 examination today, i.e 25 July 2013, region wise.

Bangalore, July 16 2013: VTU university will announce its 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st semester results between July last week. The college for students will reopen in the month of August. The 7th and 8th semester results were already announced during last week June 2013.
The results may be divided as per regions to avoid traffic on the website. Mysore, Bangalore, Belgaum and Gulbarga are the 4 regions under VTU university. Cities like Mangalore falls under Mysore region of results.

Details while filling:
1. APPLICATION SUBMISSION HAS TO BE DONE THROUGH THE EMS COORDINATOR ID.
2. Fee for Photocopy of Answer Script is Rs. 300/- per subject.
3. Fee for Revaluation is Rs. 400/- per subject
4. All the students are eligible to apply for Photocopy and Revaluation in any number of theory subjects (excluding the scripts attached with drawing
sheets).
5. Photocopy of Answer Script is Not Mandatory to apply for Revaluation.
6. Students may apply for Photocopy of Answer Script OR only Revaluation OR Both Photocopy and Revaluation.
7. Principals of respective institution shall make arrangements to submit consolidated list of applications to the respective regional offices of the
University along with a DD for the fee collected drawn in favor of Finance Officer, VTU Belgaum on or before 28″ Jan 2014.
